This is the Alpha 2 package for TFW: The Awakening.  Because there were some serious bugs in Alpha 1,
a whole new mod package is required.  You will also need to start new characters as old characters will
be bugged.


Installation
============
Make a mod folder in your Diablo II game folder.  You can name it anything you want, but "tfw" or "awakening"
are suggested.  Copy the self-extracting download package to this folder and run it.

If you have two complete installs of Diablo II, and one is version 1.10, install this mod with that version.
Use a shortcut instead of the VB scripts, as the Windows Registry values will probably be wrong.


Starting the mod
================
TFW: The Awakening is a mod for Diablo II version 1.10 only.  If you are currently running any other version,
you must be set up to run 1.10 as an alternate version.  To run multi-version, you must have multiple game.exe
(with different names) in your Diablo II folder, and you must have available the patch_D2.mpq and full DLL set
for each version.  This package has everything you need to run v1.10 except game.exe, which you must supply
yourself.  See the tutorial at the Phrozen Keep for how to set up multiple versions if you are not already
configured.

There are two different launching scripts.  Script 110-LaunchTFW.vbs assumes you are running v1.10 already, and
you have a v1.10 game.exe in your Diablo II folder.  Script 111-LaunchTFW.vbs assumes you have an alternate v1.10
game.exe named game110.exe, if the alternate you have is named differently, search the script for the line

    D2CmdLine = chr(34) & D2Path & "game110.exe" & chr(34) & "-direct -mod tfw"

and change the "game110.exe" part to whatever your file is named.


Changes since Alpha 1:
======================

One changed cube recipe, some new ones.  Undead hearts are now champion's heartstones, and demon
hearts are now leader's heartstones.

  Elemental Jewels are now created from perfect gems instead of fury gems.  The recipe is:
   rare jewel + pRuby + pSapphire + pTopaz + pEmerald + pAmethyst + Ceramic Pot = elemental jewel
   Each jewel has a 50% chance of adding its elemental damage (amethyst adds magical damage)

  Unique item upgrades!  Each upgrade retains the same stats as the item it comes from.  You
   must be at least character level 50 and in a Nightmare or Hell game to upgrade normal equipment
   to exceptional equipment.  You must be at least character level 100 and in a Hell game to upgrade 
   exceptional equipment to elite equipment.

   Normal to exceptional weapons: unique weapon + 2 crafted jewels + unique ring
   Normal to exceptional armor: unique armor + 2 crafted jewels + unique amulet
   Exceptional to elite weapons: unique weapon + 3 crafted jewels + 2 crafted charms + unique ring
   Exceptional to elite armor: unique armor + 3 crafted jewels + 2 crafted charms + unique amulet

  Unsocketing recipes!  Each recipe strips the item of sockets completely.  Some recipes destroy any
   contents, and more expensive recipes recover the contents.  One recipe exists for runeword items
   with content recovery, all other recovery recipes will not work for runewords.  (Unsocketing recipes
   that destroy contents will also work for runewords, so be careful.)

  Changed players X to make monsters tougher.  You can go up to Players 127, but be careful!

  Monster and player levels are normalized for combat mechanics and experience awards.  A level 100
   player will compare roughly equally to a level 50 monster.  Players X makes them tougher.

  New book system implemented, ALL player skills have books!  Now you find scrolls and a leather cover,
   cube one scroll and cover to make a book of that scroll's skill at skill level 1.  Find more scrolls
   and cube with the book and increase the skill level.  All books are created as rare items and do not
   change stats once created.  Level requirements increase by +2 up to skill level 5, then they increase
   by +5 thereafter.  You cannot make a book skill as powerful as a player skill.  If the book skill is
   one you have learned in your class, the most you get credit for is +3 skill levels, although the book
   may have greater potency (and you cannot see what you are missing).

  You are limited to cubing up to around 25 or so properties on any single item.  The game gets unstable
   and may crash if your items get too complex.  Choose your fury gem stats wisely!

  Many areas are larger.  Some areas in Act 1 have other changes.  Area labels in Act 1 may show unusual
   names implying additional levels, but the levels are not yet prepared.

  All items that can be gambled are variable cost.  Rings and amulets will not always appear.

  Kill counter for each difficulty, includes minion kills as well.  A special charm may drop occasionally
   called a Sigil of Achievement.  You make achievement awards with special powers after the required kills
   in each difficulty.  Carry only one Sigil from each difficulty or your life will drop to 1 hitpoint.
   Blank Sigils are harmless.  Cube Sigils as below to make them useful, in each difficulty.  10K Sigils
   are rather weak but 100M sigils are quite powerful.  Some attributes have a random chance of occurring.
   Sigils cannot be bought or sold, and they do not drop from monsters except as blanks.

	blank Sigil + 1 knowledge soda + 1 recall soda @ 10,000 kills -> 10K Sigil
        10K Sigil + 1 knowledge soda + 1 recall soda @ 100,000 kills -> 100K Sigil
        100K Sigil + 1 knowledge soda + 1 recall soda @ 1,000,000 kills -> 1M Sigil
        1M Sigil + 1 knowledge soda + 1 recall soda @ 10,000,000 kills -> 10M Sigil
        10M Sigil + 1 knowledge soda + 1 recall soda @ 100,000,000 kills -> 100M Sigil

  Monsters and skills are still vanilla D2 (for the most part), they will be changed for future releases.

Warning!  This mod is NOT compatible with Mac versions of Diablo II.


Known Bugs
==========
The rune extractor system from TFW: Ancients is still present, but there is no mechanism for changing these runes
to magical or rare runes.  It never worked as expected in the original mod (runes aren't jewels), but I won't
remove the work DeathScythe & SilenTx went through to create this system until I cannot find a way to meet their
intent.  Extracted runes must be made, they don't drop, so don't make them and you won't know the difference.

The skill descriptions do not turn white as long as unused skill points remain, even if there are no skills the
points can be applied to, or not enough points to put into any skill.  The red text has the current skill values,
this is cosmetics and I'll address it later.

Sigils of Achievement are supposed to show the character name for which they are created.  Although the Inscribe
plugin is working, I have not found what is blocking the display.

Everybody has been waiting very patiently for me to get off my duff and release this mod.  I apologize for
the time it has taken to get even this far.  The alpha package contains all the TFW items we know and love,
the cube recipes and runewords, treasure drops and a few surprises.  It does not contain changes to skills
(except requirements), monsters, missiles and levels --- those are still vanilla D2.  As a result, the game
will be easy as monster balancing doesn't exist.  Which is fine, as alpha version players should be looking
for items bugs, not game difficulty.  I will be working on those parts next, and all I can say is I hope I
get them done a lot faster than I completed this alpha!

One significant difference is the way you get and use skill points.  Maximum skill level is 50, but it isn't
a linear progression to get there.  Each skill displays its skill point requirements for the next level.

Runewords will work in magical items!

How they differ from one another?? Well base AC and base damage of the items 
	are alot better! and some of them has an automagic that doen't need to 
	be magical to have magical powers... I'll try to list some of them...

=Death Blades has an upgrading poison damage based on item level...
=Flaming Sword and Burning Fists has an upgrading Fire damage...
=Fossil Staves has an upgrading mana regen...
=Katana has an upgrading Increase attack speed
=Jagged Katar has an upgrading damage to undead

Fury Gems:
==========

1.Each Fury Gems has special powers that when you transmute to any item but 
	with restrictions based from the powers they can have... You can create
	your own item... So more gems collected, more mods and stats for your 
	favorite item... It will work in Normal, Magic and Rare items...
2.75 New Fury Gems That you can play with...
3.Restrict mods allowed to somewhat 35-40 (cant remember the exact)
4.You can now upgrade fury gems... Combine 3 of the same type and you'll get 1
	higher lvl fury gems...
5.Since you can now socket them, We added rarity, level and lvl requirement...
6.How can I know if my fury gem can transmute to a Helm?? well, its pretty obvious
	if the Fgem doesn't have a property listed for helms then you can't 
	combine it to your favorite helm...

Runes:

If you didn't notice, Runes have a maximum of 5 different combinations:
	i.e. El Rune = 2 different mods (Weapon/Helm,Shield)
	     Eld Rune = 3 different mods (Weapon/Helm/Shield)
	     Tir Rune = 1 different mod (Weapon,Helm,Shield) and so on...

So Here's the Logic... To extract the Weapon mod from El rune, you will need an 
Alpha Rune so the result will be...

El Rune + Alpha Rune + Mercury Pot = Normal Ela Rune (with +1 to light rad and 
	50 to attack rating) to randomize the runewords, you have an option to 
	make Magical or rare Ela Rune and gues what? the (+1 to light rad and 
	50 to attack rating) is always there as an automagic and use it
	in any runewords using El Rune for weapons such as Runeword 
	"Honor". More randomized, more mods and more powerful runewords!!!
